The Foundation for the Mid South recognizes the importance of sharing the lessons it is learning from this organizational transformation process with a wider audience. To this end, the foundation published 5 documents that can inform and guide the efforts of organizations interested in working on issues of equity.

The story of the Commission that includes its findings and recommendations developed for leaders—especially those who control the resources of the region's philanthropic organizations—to take responsible action to effect fundamental change and to make equity a concrete reality in the Mid South.
ORGANIZATIONAL TRANSFORMATION
A description of FMS's organizational transformation emphasizing racial, social, and economic equity and the impact the process it is having on its organizational and grantmaking policies and strategies.

LEADERSHIP CHALLENGES
A reflection on the challenges that CEOs must negotiate as they work with both board and staff throughout an organizational transformation process.

GOVERNANCE CHALLENGES
A description of the process that the FMS board followed in its efforts to develop directors who are well prepared to lead the foundation as it works more deliberately on issues of equity and race.

IMPORTANCE OF DOCUMENTATION
An assessment of how documentation can enhance the organizational transformation process. FMS provided seven memoranda in the appendix that chronicled the work of the Mid South Commission to Build Philanthropy as examples of how documentation can offer value to organizations.
